Mountain breakfast

A suitable reward for a morning bike ride...

"The early bird catches the worm", as the saying goes. And early-bird cyclists in the Ziller Valley can be rewarded with a delicious breakfast in the heart of the mountains. At the break of dawn, get on your bike and start pedalling. Bend after bend, altitude metre after altitude metre, you pedal ever closer to your destination. Your reward awaits you - a delicious mountain breakfast at the Granatalm. Enjoy the sunrise and incredible views over the mountains of the Ziller Valley as you tuck into a well-deserved breakfast.

The landlords pride themselves on using regional produce and the hearty breakfast buffet includes: delicious breads, hay-milk yoghurt from the Ziller Valley, local cheeses and sausages, eggs from free range chickens and much more. After you have finished eating and soaked up enough sunshine, take a walk to the nearby Granat Chapel. The newly built chapel is designed in the shape of a garnet (Granat in German) - the precious stone which can be found in the Ziller Valley. If you'd like to find out more about the interesting history of the chapel, the Granatalm offers guided tours which can be booked while you are enjoying your breakfast.

Take the cable car to the sunshine - a suggestion for a more leisurely bike ride! Do you prefer more leisurely bike rides and aren't keen on climbing countless altitude metres? Then shorten the bike ride by taking the cable car to the middle station of Mayrhofen's Penken cable car or the top station of the Finkenberg cable car. From there you can enjoy various cycling routes around the alm.
